Greywyn Blenwyth

Greywyn Blenwyth, a male Altmer, was a vampiric assassin of the Dark Brotherhood. He was born in the Summerset Isles.

Not much is known of Greywyn's early life except that he was born in the Summerset Isles. At some point in his life he committed a cold blooded murder. Several nights later he was invited into the Dark Brotherhood by a representative of the Dark Brotherhood and the Night Mother, a Speaker.

After joining the Dark Brotherhood, he proved himself to be cunning, overly cruel, and ambitious. A very dangerous combination. He completed mission after mission. He was practically a legend within the Dark Brotherhood. His most famous mission was an assassination of a bandit leader. To get to the leader though he had to assault a bandit army within an Ayleid ruin.

At first the assault went according to plan. He slew the first bandits easily with his trusty bow. After taking out the first bandits he was able to sneak into the second level of the ruin without further resistance. Then on a ledge high above the burial chamber he did not see the pressure plate. Using his uncanny dodging abilities, Greywyn rolled away from the hail of darts from the trap. The Bandits that had set up camp there heard the stone plate rumble when Greywyn stepped on it. The Bandits loosed a volley of arrows, and one found Greywyn's side. The pain was able to make Greywyn fall two stories to the ground. Fortunately, he had tumbled when he fell and was back on his feet a moment after he had landed. The Bandits dropped their bows and drew their swords looking for the assassin. Greywyn was able to evade them for several minutes, but there was eventually no where else to go. All the while the Bandits drew nearer and nearer. Giving a silent prayer to the Night Mother, Greywyn stood and yelled a battle cry. The cry startled the bandits giving Greywyn just enough time to slay the first two. He shot the other two with his bow using the ancient pillars for cover. After several hours he eventually found his mark and eliminated him, and returned to his Sanctuary.

During a mission into the Aylied ruin known as Fanacas, which is northeast of Cheydinhal, he came into contact with vampires. He was bitten and soon after became a vampire. Vampirism served him well for it increased his eye sight, allowed him to see in the pitch black of night, allowed him the ability to charm others, the ability to demoralize opponents because of vampires fierce reputation, and the ability to turn invisible in the night.

Several years after contracting vampirism, Greywyn started to receive visions from Sithis. He thought this was Sithis telling him to claim the Dark Brotherhood for the vampires and the vampires alone. He secured the help of many of his kin, fellow vampires, and spread them through the ranks of the Brotherhood. Several months later, one of the members of the Crimson Scars, Silarian, made known the members of the Crimson Scars and their plans to the Black Hand. The Brotherhood struck as they slept, not even giving the Scars a chance to fight back. Using their silver weapons, the Brotherhood pierced the heart of many of Greywyn's kin. They screamed as they fell, turned into dust. Greywyn himself was able to kill two of the Brotherhood before being forced to flee.
Greywyn retreated secretly to Deepscorn Hollow, his old retreat when he was younger. After nearly a month none of his kin returned to the fold. Greywyn also was disturbed that since that night Sithis had not sent him any visions. While waiting for more of his kin to show up, he hunted and killed more members of the Brotherhood spilling their blood on the Deepscorn Hollow Shrine's altar.

Several days later Greywyn found Rowley Eardwulf, a fellow member of the Crimson Scars, at the Wawnet Inn. Deepscorn Hollow was now fit to be a base of the Crimson Scars. Rowley went about his dark work acquiring new furniture and resources for the Scars. At this time Greywyn received a vision that disturbed him. It convinced him that Sithis did not after all want the Dark Brotherhood to be claimed by the Vampires. Seeing this Greywyn, found the Purgeblood Salts, and attempted to cleanse himself of vampirism. It worked, but agents of the Dark Brotherhood found the Hollow and murdered Greywyn sending him to join Sithis in the Void.
