Diese Mod nimmt sich vieler bekannter, männlicher NPCs an, die man aus Himmelsrand kennt, und verbessert deren Mimic & Optik im Allgemeinen.

    *What this mod offers:

Improved appearance for some memorable male NPCs.
Works as a standalone mod, which means it does not require you to have any other mods for the male characters to have the changed NPCs look like the ones in my screenshots.

    *About The Men of Winter:

I have always looked for a fine enhancement mod for some of my favorite NPCs in Skyrim, but even with this great community of love for the series and dedication, I could not find exactly what I was looking for. So...here is what I made. The Men of Winter aims to improve some of the memorable NPCs in Skyrim by giving them nicer look. But it just doesn't end there...there are 2 things that make this one special, or different from the ones in this line of mods.

First, although you may have guessed this, this mod only focuses on male characters...no females, just dudes.
And the second thing is, it's not made so they'd look as "cool-looking" as you might expect.

The male NPCs in Skyrim are very intriguing...they're more than once the ones who drive your favorite story-lines. They're often driven by faith, love, greed, or madness, and thus their characteristics are extremely varied; sometimes they're the most reliable allies in your travels or the most-hated enemies who attempt to kill you.

In the process of making this mod I reminded myself countless times to enhance these "memorable dudes" by giving them more "authentic" appearance that may seem to reflect their interesting characteristics and backgrounds.

I plan to continue working on this mod to improve the currently-changed NPCs and to include some more others who could use more love.

*At the moment of V3 release, the following NPCs have been reworked (from A-Z):

Brynjolf (Riften, your senpai in Thieves Guild)

Derkeethus (Darkwater Crossing, waiting for you to come and save him)

Eltrys (Markarth, the lad who asks for your help in investigating the Forsworn conspiracy.)

Enthir (College of Winterhold, the wood-elf broker who sells you stuff)

Erik/Erik the Slayer (Rorikstead, farmer boy)

Erikur (Solitude, a Thane at Blue Palace)

Esbern (You need to find this old man)

    Hadvar (Riverwood, Legionnaire lad)

Idolaf Battle-Born (Whiterun, the elder brother)

Jon Battle-Born (Whiterun, the younger brother)

Lokir (He might be from Rorikstead)

Madanach (Markarth, the King in the Rags)

Miraak (From Dragonborn DLC, your fated enemy)

Mercer Fray (Your sensei in Thieves Guild)

Neloth (From Dragonborn DLC, House Telvanni master wizard)

    Ralof (Riverwood, Stormcloak lad)

Runil (Falkreath, the priest of Arkay)

Scouts-Many-Marshes (Windhelm Docks, a man with a pure heart, marriageable)

    Sheogorath (Mad God)

Storn Crag-Strider (From Dragonborn DLC, the elder in Skaal Village)

    General Tullius (A military governer)

Ulfric Stormcloak (You know who he is)

Veezara (The baddest ass in Dark Brotherhood and maybe in all of Black marsh )

    Ysgramor (Hero of men)

Many of them have never been covered by other make-up mods out there, but these are the people I have always had in mind upon releasing this mod.

Ulfric has 3 variations for his face; he will paint his face blue when fighting the Imperials!

    *Further Information About the Mod

All NPCs are standalone; You don't need to have any mods to have them look like the ones in the screenshots.

Specifically, the following assets are already included in this mod:

Body Meshes (Undies are put on!), Body Textures, Hands Meshes and Textures, Feet Meshes and Textures, Head Textures from SkySight by fadingsignal

    and

Various Hair, Beards, Eyes, Warpaints, and Eyebrows Meshes/Textures.

These assets do not affect any other characters in game, including your own character. Only the changed NPCs will use these new assets.

No NPCs have been changed their body weights in this mod. Therefore you do not need to "setnpcweight" in order to avoid the neck gap issue.

In addition to improve their appearance, many of the affected NPCs have been changed to have slightly higher skills,
corresponding abilities, perks and inventory items.

For instance, Ysgramor was classified to be "citizen" in Vanilla and had very low skills with everything regarding fighting,
but now his class has been set "combatwarrior2H" and he is a highly-skilled warrior who knows many perks from two-handed, one-handed, and block skill trees.

Some of them such as Brynjolf and Mercer now have "Light Foot" perk so they will not activate any booby traps in ruins.

    *Compatibility & Requirements

The Men of Winter requires Dragonborn DLC in addition to the updated Skyrim.

All changes and fixes made to these NPCs from Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch have been implemented, therefore there is no need to make a patch with USLEEP. The Men of Winter does not require USLEEP as a master file.

Obviously conflicts with any mods that edit the same NPC(s).

I have made the compatibility patches to work with some other popular mods and you can install them by following the instructions given by the installer.

There are two kinds of compatibility patches; The Equipment and Inventory Safety Patches & the Appearance Safety Patches.

The Equipment and Inventory Safety Patch provides support for the mods thatchange the NPCs' inventory items,
such as outfit and equipped items.

By installing this patch you will have improved appearance from The Men of Winter and any items added to their inventories.

The Equipment and Inventory Safety Patches support the following:

    Immersive Weapons (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27644),
    Holds The City Overhaul (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74638),
    Sovngarde Gold (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50530),
Rise of Legend - Ysgramor (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53581),
    and Morrowloot Ultimate (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66105).

The Appearance Safety Patch provides support for some mods which add the NPCs more activities by giving them an important role in the new quest-lines, by changing their daily schedules, and so on.

Installing this patch will allow you to have improved appearance for the NPCs who are important in some mods by retaining the functionality that these mods intended.

The Appearance Safety Patches support the following mods:

    Immersive College of Winterhold (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36849),
    Miraak - Dragonborn Follower (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43529),
The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64651) ,
    and Royal Blue Palace (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67249).

I also recommend you to set up your SKSE.ini so the war paints can be displayed in 2048x2048pxls size.

    *To Users

Some armor mods, weapon mods, and re-texture mods for armors are certainly used in many of my screenshots but they're not included in my work!

If you find any issues please go post it in the comments section but please beware one thing:

I will not take requests about which NPCs to be included in this project.

You're free to talk about it there but please acknowledge that you're likely ignored.
